The Pearly Picot Star

A crochet star pattern with six pearly picot points!

pearly picot crochet star

One round of crochet and six pearly beads is all this one takes. The three larger stars are crocheted in Rico Design Essentials Cotton DK and a 3 mm hook, the smaller ones use Coats Puppets Eldorado size 10 thread and a 1.75 mm hook.

Both the written pattern and photo tutorial are below.

The Pearly Picot Star pattern

Step 1: thread six pearly beads onto your yarn. Make a slip knot.

Step 2: ch 2, sc (UK dc) into 2nd ch from hook.

If you like, put a stitch marker under the top two loops of that sc (UK dc) - we will work our last stitch in here.

Step 3 - picot: ch 2, move bead up to hook, ch 1 to secure bead, sc (UK dc) into 3rd ch from hook.

Step 4: hdc (UK htr) into the very first chain you worked after your slip knot. It's where you worked your sc (UK dc.)

Repeat steps 3 and 4 four times to complete five star points!

With your sixth bead, work step 3. Join with a ss into your first sc (UK dc.)

Finishing: snip your yarn and gently tighten the slip stitch. Weave the tail end of the last star point into the bottom back of the first star point so that the two points sit together nicely, then finish weaving it in around the circle. Weave in your other tail end.
